How to use this comparison

Enter a single EPC score and read the four published views as separate comparisons. Nothing is submitted to a server and nothing is stored.

  1. Enter a postcode district only

    Type the first part of the postcode, such as M11, SW1A or AL1. Do not enter a street address, full postcode, UPRN or certificate number — none of those are used or needed.

  2. Choose the property type and construction age band

    Select the property type and construction age band recorded on the EPC certificate.

  3. Enter the current score, and potential if you have it

    The current score is required (1 to 100). The potential score is optional. Both come from the certificate.

  4. Read the four views independently

    Each view compares your score against a different published group: all homes in the district, the same property type in the district, the same construction age in the district, and the same type and age across England and Wales.

These are four separate comparisons. They are not combined into a single micro-cohort and must not be read as one matched group.

The results are context, not a valuation, survey, energy bill forecast or guarantee. Always check the official EPC certificate before making decisions.
